Canva is a very handy little online app. Personally, I prefer Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator for any design work, but if you are just starting out and don't want to invest money and time in those two, Canva is a great alternative.
Today I'll show you how easy it is to design your blog post graphics using stock photos and a transparent overlay PNG image.
WHAT YOU NEED?
1. CANVA ACCOUNT
2. SUITABLE IMAGES
Your blog has a specific style. Keep it in mind while you are picking images for your blog posts. I’ll be using the Treasury templates in my video tutorial, but you can also use stock photos. Here are my favourite sites for pretty images: WHERE TO FIND BEAUTIFUL STOCK PHOTOS FOR YOUR BLOG
3. YOUR SIGNATURE FONTS
Use your brand fonts, if possible. If they are not available in Canva, pick one to three fonts and stick to them.
HOW TO DO IT
- Open Canva.com and log in
- Start a new design
- Upload your images and transparent PNGs
- Drag and drop the images onto your canvas
- Add your text
- Pick your fonts
- Adjust all elements
- Export your image
- Save your Canva work for next time
