Get Started

I've downloaded my Branding Kit, now what?

After purchasing this Branding Kit it from Creative Market, download it to your computer and unzip it. The files are huge, so it might take a minute or two.

How do i design my brand using the brand design kit?

  1. Go to Brand Designs > Preview JPEGs and choose your brand.
  2. Open the 'Fonts Download Links', download and install the fonts you’ll need for the design you've chosen.
  3. Find the brand design you've chosen in Brand Designs > Illustrator Files - AI or Brand Designs > Photoshop Files - PSD, open it and start editing it.
  4. When you're ready see how it looks together and adjust if needed.
  5. When you're happy with the results, open a new document in the size you need your logo or brand element to be or use the templates in Brand Design > Templates folder.
  6. Copy your elements from your brand design file and paste them into your new document.
  7. Resize and adjust your design and export as PNG or JPEG.

How can I install the fonts?

A quick Google search will give you the best answer for your specific device and system, but here are a few quick instructions:

Installing fonts on Mac:

  1. Download and unzip the font.
  2. Open the Finder window.
  3. Open Users folder and double click on the house icon.
  4. Open the Library > Fonts
  5. Drag and drop (or copy and paste) the font file(s) into the Font folder.

Installing fonts on PC:

  1. Download and unzip the font.
  2. Right click on the font file
  3. Click Install

An extra step worth taking, is to check if the font is still completely free. At the time of the release of each Kit all fonts were free for personal and commercial use. However, these are third party links and I'm in no way responsible for their content. The terms of use of each font might change at any time, so please check the license information and make sure the font you like is still free before starting your project.

Brand Design Basics

HOW SHOULD i CHOOSE MY BRAND COLORS?

Choosing the colors is one of the most important parts of the brand design process. This step is also one of my favourite – it's the moment when you breathe life to the the brand or project you are working on, and when everything comes together in a magical way.

Let me tell you more about the nature of colors and introduce you to two methods to choose YOUR perfect color match: The Capsule Wardrobe Method and The Dream House Method:

How to Choose Your Color Palette - Part 1: The Theory

How to Choose Your Color Palette - Part 2: Pick Your Colors

I have my own colors in mind, can I use those?

Yes! In fact, it's best if you come up with your very own color scheme, one that is "so darn YOU!"

What ARE submarkS and a wordmarkS?

Sumbark is a smaller and simpler variation of your main logo. Often it looks like a stamp and it's great for small profile pictures.

Wordmark is just the text part of your logo. It's ideal when you need to fit your business name on just one line, like in a fixed blog header for example.

What size should my logo/SUBMARK/... be?

There's not a "one size fits all" answer here. Your Squarespace website template will need your logo in one size and your Moo business card template, in another. I've provided templates to get you started, but only you can know the right size for your brand elements.
